Body, Mind, Create
Welcome! I am so glad you are here!
I'm Rachel, owner and therapist of DuPage Creative Counseling. I bring a unique blend of therapy techniques to best fit each client's individual needs. Having worked in a wide variety of treatment settings, serving a diverse population of clients, I bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to my current therapy services. As a dance/movement therapist, creative arts therapist, licensed counselor, and Somatic Experiencing practitioner in training; my goal is to support the whole person, not just the symptoms. I combine the creative process and body based interventions with traditional DBT and CBT techniques to assist with building coping skills, resilience, and empowerment with the goal to thrive versus just survive.
I work with children, tweens, teens, as well as adults. When working with kiddos I strive to meet them on their level, incorporating activities or topics that they enjoy to make the therapy experience less intimidating or overwhelming. In addition to individual therapy services for kids, I also provide school consultation services, in school observations, and therapy sessions in the school setting. With kids spending the majority of their time at school, I am passionate about helping to create consistency across environments and help clients feel emotionally supported at school and home.
In addition, I also provide professional consultation, presentations, and group and individual supervision services. As a seasoned therapist in the field (hitting 20 years soon!) I greatly enjoy supporting and challenging other therapists as well as educating on the healing role of the creative arts and the body.
